a pinhole opening to admit a small amount of light for testing purposes. When testing or using the unit in
the dark, remove the objective lens cap and activate the unit by pushing the ON Button. The green Power
LED (4) indicates that the unit’s power is on. Always remember to turn the unit o when done. Do not store
this unit while the indicator is lit.
CAUTION: This unit can be used in extreme cold weather. However, when the unit is brought back into a warm environment,
you must wait approximately 5 hours before using the unit again. Damage may occur due to condensation that may have
accumulated on the internal circuitry of the unit.
USING THE INFRARED (IR) ILLUMINATOR
Your Equinox Night Vision oers a built-in Infrared Illuminator (5). This allows you to see even in complete
darkness where no ambient light source, such as moonlight, is available. To activate, simply press the IR
Button (6) located next to the ON Button. The red IR LED (7) indicates that the Illuminator is on. The IR
Illuminator beam features an adjustable coverage angle. To narrow the beam, turn the IR Illuminator Hood
(8) counterclockwise and pull forward. To make the beam wider, push the IR Illuminator Hood (8) back and
turn it clockwise.
FOCUSING
Direct the unit at an object at a distance of approximately 100 yards and rotate the Eyepiece Ring (9) to
give the best image quality for your eyesight. After making this adjustment, it should not be necessary to
change the setting of the eyepiece unless it is moved accidently. You will use just the Objective Lens Ring
(10) to focus on objects at dierent distances. Direct the unit at the subject to be viewed and adjust the nal
focus by rotating the Objective Lens Ring (10) until the image appears as sharp as possible.
