TOWING SAFELY
•Stoppingdistanceincreaseswithspeedandweightof
towedload.Travelslowlyandallowextratimeanddistance
tostop.
•Totaltowedweightmustnotexceedlimitsspeciedin
towingvehicleoperator'smanual.
•Excessivetowedloadcancauselossoftractionandloss
ofcontrolonslopes.Reducetowedweightwhenoperating
onslopes.
•Useonlyapprovedhitches.Towonlywithamachinethat
hasahitchdesignedfortowing.Donotattachthismachine
exceptattheapprovedhitchpoint.
•Followthemanufacturer'srecommendationsforweight
limitsfortowedequipmentandtowingonslopes.Use
counterweightsorwheelweightsasdescribedinthetowing
vehicleoperator'smanual.
•Donotturnsharply.Useadditionalcautionwhenturningor
operatingunderadversesurfaceconditions.Usecarewhen
reversing.Toavoidjack-kning,donotallowtowingvehicle
wheelstocontacttowbar.
•Donotshifttoneutralandcoastdownhill.
KEEP RIDERS OFF TOWED ATTACHMENT
•Keepridersofftowedattachment.
•Ridersonatowedattachmentaresubjecttoinjury,suchas
beingstruckbyobjectsandbeingthrownofftheattachment
duringsuddenstarts,stopsandturns.
•Ridersobstructtheoperator'sview,resultinginthe
attachmentbeingusedinanunsafemanner.
•Keepridersoffoftowbar.
KEEP BODY PARTS FROM UNDER TOW BAR
Beforedisconnectingthismachinefromtowingvehiclehitch
plate:
•Stoponlevelground.
•Stoptowingvehicleengine.
•Locktowingvehicleparkbrake.
•Blockwheelsofthemachine.
•Makesurebodypartsarenotundertowbar.
