To deactivate this function
Select the "OFF" mode in the closed
caption select mode display.
To view text
Text is information that is presented using from a half to a full television
screen. It is usually not related to the program.
For example, it could be a listing of the closed-captioned programs,
news, weather information or stock market reports.
Select the desired program.

Press RECALL to check if the
program includes TEXT information.
If it does, the word "TEXT" is
displayed on the screen.
Press SET UP repeatedly on the
Remote Control (or ADV on the TV)
until "CLOSED CAPTION" is
displayed in magenta.
Press - or + to call up the closed
caption select mode display.
Usable selections are displayed in
yellow.
Note:
If you select this menu immediately
after changing to a closed-captioned
channel, all the items may be
displayed in cyan.
Press- or รท until "TEXT 1" or "TEXT
2" is displayed in magenta.

Note:
When you select the "TEXT" mode, the TEXT screen will always be
displayed.
However, if TEXT character signals are not transmitted, the characters
are not displayed.
