oline) such as E--15 (15% alcohol), E--20 (20%
alcoho l), E--85 ( 85% alcohol) a re NOT classi fied
as gaso line and are NOT approved f or use in
2--stroke gasoline engines. Use of altern ative
fuels wi ll cause pro blems su ch as: improper
clutch engagement s, overheating, vapor lo ck,
power loss, lubrication deficiency , deteriorat ion
of fuel lines, gaskets and inte rnal carburet or

HOW TO STOP YOUR UNIT
S Release the throttle trigger.
S Push and release the engine ON /ST OP
switch. The switch will automatically return
to the ON position. Wait 5 seconds bef ore
attempting to restart unit to allow switch to
reset.

STARTING A COLD ENGINE
NOTE:
DO NOTsqueeze the throttle trigger
until the engine has started and runs.
1. Set unit on a flat su rface.
2. Slowly press t he primer bulb 6 times.
3. Move choke lever to the FULL CHOKE
positi on.

4. Pull start er rope handle sharp ly until engine
sounds as if it is trying to start, bu t do not
pull rope m ore than 6 t imes.
5. As soon as engine sounds as if itis tryingto
start , move choke lever to HALF CHOKE
position.
6. Pull starte r rope sh arply until engine runs,
but no more t han 6 pull s.
NOTE:If t heen-
gine doesn’t start after 6 pulls (at the
HALF CHOKE position), m ove thechoke
lever to the FULL CHOKE position and
press the primer bulb 6 times. Pull the
start er rope 2 m o re times. Move the
chokelever totheHALF CHOKEposit ion
and pull the start er r op e until the engine
runs, but no more than 6 pulls. If the en-
gine still doesn’t st art, it is probably
flooded. Proceed to STARTING A
FLOODED ENGINE.
7. Once the engine starts, allow it to run 10
seconds. Squeeze throttl e trigger and a llow
the unit to r un for 30 m ore s econd s at R UN.
Release throttle trigger.
NOTE: If engine
dieswi ththechokelever intheRUNposi-
tion, move the choke lever to FULL
CHOKE thenback to HALF CHOKE and
pull the rope until engine runs, but no
more than 6 pulls.
STARTING A WARM ENGINE
1. Move choke lever to the FULL CH OKE
position, then to the HALF CH OKE posi-
tion to set fast idle.
2. Pull starte r rope sh arply until engine runs,
but no m ore than 6 pulls.
3. Allow engine to r un 15 second s, thenmove
the choke lever to RUN.
NOTE: If engine has not started, pull sta rter
rope 5more pulls.If enginest illdoes notrun,it
is probably flooded.
STARTING A FLOODED ENGINE
Flooded engines ca n b e sta rted by placing t he
choke lever in th e RUN posit ion; then, pull the
rope to clear the engine of exce ss fuel. This
could requ ire pulling th e start er handle many
times depend ing on how badly the unit is
flooded. I f the unit still doesn’t start, refer to
