OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Before each use, check to make sure the Nut (31) is securely tightened.
(See Figure A.)
2. Position the Floor Jack with its Adapter under the transmission/differential of
the vehicle. Then raise the Floor Jack until the Adapter nearly contacts the
underside of the transmission/differential.
3. Adjust the position of the Floor Jack so that the Adapter is centered directly
under the center of gravity of the transmission/differential. It is important for
your safety to get a good contact between the Adapter and transmission/
differential. This will assure the transmission/differential is properly supported
and balanced once removed from the vehicle and on the Adapter.
4. Use the Knob (10) to adjust the angle of the Adapter so that it is best aligned
with the transmission/differential. Then raise the Floor Jack again until the
Saddle (13) of the Adapter contacts and will support the weight of the transmis-
sion/differential; then fully tighten Knob (10). (See Figure B.)
5. The positions of the Chain (5) and Chain Hook (22) can be adjusted by using the
Wing Nut (26). (See Figure B.)

6. Secure the transmission/differential to the Adapter by passing the Chain (5) over
the top of the transmission/differential, and securing the Chain to the Chain Hook
(22). Tighten the Chain by tightening the Wing Nut (26). Check to make sure
the transmission/differential is safely and securely attached to the Adapter.
(See Figure B.)
7. Remove the bolts and fittings attaching the transmission/differential to the ve-
hicle, and separate the transmission/differential as recommended by the vehicle
instruction manual.
8. Use the Floor Jack to lower the transmission/differential slightly. Recheck the
transmission/differential to make sure it is safely and securely attached to the
Adapter. Make any necessary adjustments. When safe to do so, lower the
transmission/differential all the way.
