2 Lay the CST1000 on it's side, with the handle to the left, and the trimmer head to the right. Remove all screws. Lift the top plastic piece off, and remove the two additional screws. Lift the bottom plastic piece off, and this will allow access to the battery. The battery is a pb7.5-12. It's a standard size 12v, 7.5 ah battery that measures 2 1/2 inches wide by 3 3/4 inches tall x 6 inches long.
