ings on unit and in manual. Read entire instruc-

manual. Never allow children to operate this

OPERATOR SAFETY

Dress properly. Always w ear safety glasses
or similar eye protection when operating, or
performing maintenance, on your unit (safety
glasses ar eavailable). Eye protection should
be m ar ked Z87.

Always w ear face ordust mask if operation is
dusty.
S
Always wearheavy , long pants, long sleeves,
boots, and gloves. Wearingsafety leg guards
is r ecom mended.
S
Always w ear foot protection. Do not go bare-
foot or w ear sandals. Stay cl ear of spinning
line.
S
Securehairaboveshoulder length. Secureor
remove loose clothing or clothing with loosely
hanging ties, straps, tassels, etc. They can
be caught in moving parts.

Being fully covered also helps protect you
from debris and pieces of toxic plants thrown
by spi nning line.

Stay Alert. Do not oper ate this unit w hen you
are tired, ill, upset or under the influence of al-
cohol, drugs, or medication. Watch what you
are doing; use c ommon sense.

Wear hearing protection.

Never start or run inside a closed r oom or
building. Br eathing exhaust fumes can kill.

Keep handles free of oil and fuel.
UNIT / MAINTENANCE SAFETY

Disconnect the spark plug before per forming
maintenance except carburetor adjustments.
S
Look for and replace damaged or loose parts
before each use. Look for and repair fuel
leaks before use. Keep in good working
condition.

Replace trimmer head par ts that arechipped,
cracked, broken, or damaged in any other
way before using the unit.
S
Maintain unit according to recommendedpro-
cedures. Keep cutting line at proper length.

the unit. Use only specified trimmer head;

FUEL SAFETY

Mix and pour fuel outdoors.

Keep aw ay from spar ks or flames.

Use a container approved for fuel.
S
Do not smoke or allow smoking near fuel or
the unit.

Av oidspillingfuel or oil. Wipe up all fuelspills.

Move at least 10 feet (3 meters) away fr om
fueling site befor e starting engine.

Stop engine and allow to c ool before rem ov-
ing fuel cap.

Always store gasoline in a container ap-
proved for flammable l iquids.
