BLOWER SAFETY
S Use only in daylight or in good artificial
light.
S Inspect the area bef ore using the unit.
Remove all debris and hard objects
such as rocks,glass, wi re,etc. ,that ca n
ri cochet, be t hrown, or otherwise cause
injur y or damag e duri ng oper ati on.
S Never r un the u nit without the proper
equipment attached. When used as a
blower,a l waysinstallablowertube.U se
only recommended att achments.
S To avoidspreadingfir e,donotuseblow-
er near leaf or brush fires, fireplaces,
bar becue pi ts, ashtrays, etc.
S Never p lace object s insi de the blower
tubes; always direct the blowing debris
away from people, animals, glass, and
solid obj ects such as trees, automo-
biles, walls, etc. The force of air can
cause r o cks, dirt, or s ti cks to be thr ow n
or to ricochet which can hurt people or
ani m als, br eak glass, or cause other
damage.
S Never use for spreading chemi cals, f er-
tilizers, or any other substances which
may contain toxic materials.
VACUUM SAFETY

door or attempt ing to insert or r e m ove
the vacuum tubes. The motor must be
stopped and the impell er blades no
longer t ur ni ng to avoid serious inj ur y
from the r ot at ing bl ades.
S Hard objects can be thrown thr ough t he
collecti on bag or the housing and be-
come dangerous missi l es which can
cause serious injury to the operator or
othe rs.
S When using the vacu um attachment,the
unit is designed to pick up dry material
such as leaves, grass, small twigs, and
bits of paper. Do not vacuum stones,
gravel, m etal, broken glass, etc., to avoid
severe da mage to the im peller. To avoid
the possibility of e lectrical shock, do not
attempt to vacuum water or other liquids.
S Never run the unit w ithout the proper
equipment attached. When u sed as a
vacuum,always insta llvacuum tubesand
collection bag assembly. Make s ure the
collection bag assembly is completely
zipped whenunit is runningto avoidflying
debris. Use only recommended attach-
ments.
S Avoid situations which could set the col-
lection bag on fire. Do not vacuum dis-
carded matches, cigars, cigarettes, or
ash from fireplaces, barbecue pits, brush
piles, etc. To avoid sprea ding fire, d o not
use blower near lea f or brush fires, fire-
places, barbecue pits, a shtrays, etc.
S Always use t he collection bag shoulder
strapwhenvacuumingtoavoidlossof
control.
S Check a ir intake op enings, elbow tube,
andvacuum t ubesfrequently, alwayswith
the unit stopped an d the power source
disconnected. Keep ven ts andtubes free
of debris which ca n accumulate and re-
strict pr oper air flow. Do n ot use with any
opening blocked, Keep free of dust, lint,
hair and anyt hing that may reduce air
flow.
CAUTIO N: To avoid causing damage to
the unit,
DO NOT attempt to use the vari-
able speed control d ur ing vacuum use.
