OPERATOR SAFETY

Dress proper ly. Always w ear safety glasses
or similar eye protection when operating, or
performing maintenance, on your unit (safety
glasses ar eavailable). Eye pr otection should
be marked Z87.

Always w ear face ordust mask if operation is
dusty.

Always wear heavy, long pants, long sleeves,
boots, andgloves. W ear ing safety legguards
is recomm ended.

Always wear foot protection. Do not go bare-
foot or wear sandals. Stay clear of spinning
line.

Securehairabove shoulder length. Secureor
remove loose clothing or clothing withloosely
hanging ties, straps, tassels, etc. They can
be caught in m oving parts.

Being fully cover ed a lso helps pr otect you
from debris and pieces of toxic plants throw n
by spinning line.

Stay Alert. Do not operate this unit when you
are tired, ill, upset orunder theinfluence ofal-

Disconnect the spar k p lug before per forming
maintenance except carburetor adjustments.

Look for and r eplace damaged or loose par ts
before each use. Look for and repair fuel
leaks before use. Keep in good wor king
condition.

Replace t rim mer head par ts that arechipped,
cracked, broken, or damaged in any other
way before u sing the unit.

Maintain uni t according to r ecom mendedpro-
cedures. Keep cutting line a t proper length.

FUEL SAFETY

Mix and pour fuel outdoors.

Keep aw ay from sparks or flames.

Use a c ontainer approved for fuel.

Do not sm oke or allow sm oking near fuel or
the unit.

Av oidspilling fuel or oil. Wipe up all fuelspills.

Move at l east 10 feet (3 m eters) aw ay fr om
fueling site before starting engine.

Stop engine and allow to c ool before remov-
ing fuel cap.

Always store gasoline in a cont ainer ap -
proved for flammable liquids.
