YOUR WARRANTY RIGHTS AND OB-
LIGATIONS: The U. S. Environmental

OUTDOORPRODUCTSarepleasedtoex-
plaintheemissionscontrolsystemwarranty
onyourlawnandgardenequipmentengine.
Allnewutilityandlawnandgardenequipment
engines must be designed, built, and
equipped to meet the stringent anti--smog
standards. POULAN/WEED EATER must
warranttheemissioncontrolsystemonyour
lawnandgardenequipmentengineforthepe-
riodsoftimelistedbelowprovidedtherehas
beennoabuse,neglect,orimpropermainte-
nanceofyourlawnandgardenequipmenten-
gine.Youremissioncontrolsystemincludes
partssuchasthecarburetorandtheignition
system.Whereawarrantableconditionexits,
POULAN/WEEDEATERwillrepairyourlawn
and garden equipment engine atno costto
you.Expensescoveredunder warrantyin-
cludediagnosis,partsandlabor.MANUFAC-
TURER’SWARRANTYCOVERAGE:Ifany
emissions related part on your engine (as
listed under Emissions Control Warranty
PartsList)isdefectiveoradefectinthemate-
rialsorworkmanshipoftheenginecausesthe
failureof suchan emissionrelated part,the
partwillberepairedorreplacedbyPOULAN/
WEED EATER. OWNER’S WARRANTY
RESPONSIBILITIES:Asthelawn andgar-
den equipment engine owner, you are re-
sponsiblefortheperformanceoftherequired
maintenancelistedinyourOwner’sManual.
POULAN/WEEDEATER recommendsthat
youretainallreceiptscoveringmaintenance
onyourlawnandgardenequipmentengine,
but POULAN/WEED EATER cannot deny
warrantysolelyforthelackofreceiptsorfor
yourfailuretoensuretheperformanceofall
scheduled maintenance. Asthe lawnand
gardenequipmentengineowner,youshould
beawarethatPOULAN/WEEDEATERmay
denyyouwarrantycoverageifyourlawnand
garden equipment engine ora partof ithas
failedduetoabuse,neglect,impropermainte-
nance,unapprovedmodifications,ortheuse
ofpartsnotmadeorapprovedbytheoriginal
equipmentmanufacturer. Youareresponsi-
ble for presenting your lawn and garden
equipmentenginetoaPOULAN/WEEDEAT-
ER authorized repair center as soon as a
problemexists.Warrantyrepairsshouldbe
completed in a reasonable amount of time,
nottoexceed30days.Ifyouhaveanyques-
tionsregardingyourwarrantyrightsandre-
sponsibilities,youshouldcontactyournear-
est authorized service center or call
POULAN/WEED EATER at
1--800--554--6723. WARRANTY COM-
MENCEMENTDATE:The warrantyperiod
beginsonthedatethelawnandgardenequip-
ment engine is purchased. LENGTH OF
COVERAGE:Thiswarrantyshallbeforape-
riodof twoyears fromthe initialdate ofpur-
chase. WHAT ISCOVERED: REPAIROR
REPLACEMENTOFPARTS.Repairorre-
placementofanywarrantedpartwillbeper-
formed at no charge tothe ownerat anap-
proved POULAN/WEED EATER servicing
center.Ifyouhaveanyquestionsregarding
yourwarrantyrightsandresponsibilities,you
shouldcontactyournearestauthorizedser-
vicecenterorcallPOULAN/WEEDEATERat
1--800--554--6723 WARRANTY PERIOD:
Anywarrantedpartwhichisnotscheduledfor
replacement as required maintenance, or
whichisscheduledonlyforregularinspection
to theeffect of“repair orreplace asneces-
sary”shallbewarrantedfor2years.Anywar-
ranted partwhich isscheduled forreplace-
ment as required maintenance shall be
warrantedfortheperiodoftimeuptothefirst
scheduled replacement point for that part.
DIAGNOSIS: The owner shall not be
charged fordiagnostic laborwhich leadsto
thedeterminationthatawarrantedpartisde-
fectiveifthediagnosticworkisperformedat
anapprovedPOULAN/WEEDEATERserv-
icing center. CONSEQUENTIAL DAM-
AGES: POULAN/WEED EATERmay beli-
able for damages to other engine
componentscausedbythefailureof awar-
ranted part still under warranty. WHAT IS
NOT COVERED: All failures caused by
abuse,neglect,orimpropermaintenanceare
not covered. ADD--ON OR MODIFIED
PARTS:Theuseofadd--onormodifiedparts
canbegroundsfordisallowingawarrantyclaim.
POULAN/WEEDEATERisnotliabletocover
failuresofwarrantedpartscausedbytheuse
ofadd--onormodifiedparts.HOWTOFILEA
