Inspect cooling system

Prior to each work day, perform the
following:
Daily maintenance
WARNING!
To reduce re hazard,
keep the engine and mufer free of
debris, leaves, or excessive grease
Mufer
This unit must never be operated with a faulty or missing spark arrester or mufer. Make sure the mufer is well secured and
in good condition. A worn or damaged mufer is a re hazard and may also cause hearing loss.
Spark Plug
Keep the spark plug and wire connections tight and clean.
Fasteners
Make sure nuts, bolts, and screws (except carburetor adjusting screws) are tight.
NOTE:
Using non-standard replacement parts could invalidate your Shindaiwa warranty.
Lubricate the cutters with oil before
use, and after refueling.
Check the cutters for damage and
make sure all bolts are tight.
Check for loose, damaged, or miss-
ing components, and repair as
necessary.
Remove all grass clippings and dirt
from the hedge trimmer.
Remove any compacted debris from
around the fuel tank and/or mufer.
Inspect cooling system. Check cool-
ing air intake area at base of crank-
case. Remove all debris. Dirt build-
up in these areas can lead to engine
overheating, re, or premature wear.
Clean under the cylinder cover and
around the spark plug.
Inspect the air lter element for
clogging, clean as necessary.
Check for fuel leaks.

Always wear gloves when
working around the cutter assembly.
