ADDITIONAL PROBLEMS
What To Check Possible Cause Remedy
Poor
acceleration.
Clogged air cleaner
element.
Spark arrester is
clogged.
Clogged fuel filter.
Carburetor mixture
too lean.
Idle speed set too low.
Leaking or damaged
blower housing or tube
assembly.
Engine is
knocking.
Overheating condition.
Improper fuel.
Carbon deposits in
combustion chamber
and/or exhaust port.
Idle engine until cool; find
reason for overheat.
Check fuel octane rating.
Check for presence of
alcohol in fuel. Refuel as
necessary.
Consult with an authorized
servicing dealer.
Clean the element.
Clean the Spark arrester.

Replace fuel filter.
Consult with an authorized
servicing dealer.
Set to 2500-3000 RPM.
Repair or replace components
as required.
Egine difficult
to shut off.
Debris is tangled in
blower impeller blades.
Overheated engine.
Throttle cable is
incorrectly adjusted.
Overheating due to
incorrect spark plug.
