C. BLADE REPLACEMENT
WARNING
Always wear proper hand and eye protection when
working with cutter blades.
Remove the ignition key before replacing the blades.1.
Raise the mower deck to the highest position. Place 2.
the lanyard pin in the highest cutting height position
to prevent the cutter deck from falling.
Secure the cutter blades to prevent them from 3.
rotating, (use the optional Blade Buddy tool P/N
9212, to assist in securing the cutter blades), remove
the nut from the blade attaching bolt. Remove the
cutter blade, bolt and spacer from the spindle shaft.
See Figure 7-8.
- NOTE -
The front of the machine will have to be raised
slightly to remove the blade bolt from the cutter
spindle.
To install the new cutter blade, put the flat washer 4.
onto the blade bolt and slide the bolt into the hole in
the cutter blade.

Be sure that the blade is installed with the lift wing
toward the top.
Install the spacer onto the blade bolt and insert the 5.
bolt into the cutter spindle shaft.
Install the hex nut to the blade bolt at the top of the 6.
cutter spindle. Secure the blades from rotating and
torque to 75 lb-ft. See Figure 7-8.

Check the tire pressures after every 8 hours of operation
or daily.
