this war ranty does not cover tune-ups, spark
plugs, filters, starter ropes, starter springs, cut-
ting line, orrotating head parts that w ill wear and
requirereplacement with reasonable use during

cover pr edelivery setup or normal adjustments
explained in the instruction manual.

YOUR WARRANTY RIGHTS AND OBLIGA-
TIONS:
The U . S. Environmental Protection
Agency and PO U LAN/WEED EATER, DIVI-
SION OF WCI OUTDOOR PRODUCTS, INC.,
are pleased t o explain the emissions cont r ol
system w ar r anty o nyour year2001--2004 small
off--road engine. POULAN /WEED EATER
must warr ant t he e mission contr ol system on
your small off--road engine f or t he periods of
time l isted bel ow provided t her e has been no
abuse, neglect, or impr oper maintenance o f
your small off--road engine. Your emission con-
trol system includes parts such as the carbur e-
tor and the ignition system. Where a warrant-
able c ondition exists, POULAN/WEED EATER
will r epair your small of f--road engine at no cost
to you. Expenses covered under warranty in-
clude diagnosis, parts and labor.
MANUFAC-
TURER’S WARRANTY COVERAGE:
If any
emissions related part on y our engine (as listed
under Emissions C ontr ol W ar rantyParts List) is
defective or a defect i n the materials o r work-
manshipof theenginecauses thefailure ofsuch
anemission related par t,the partwill berepaired
or replaced by POULAN/WEED EATER.
OWNER’S W ARRANTY RESPO NSIBILI-
TIES:
As the sm all off--road engine ow ner, you
are responsible for the performance of t he re-
quired maintenance listed in your instruction
manual. POULAN/WEED EATER recom-
mends that you r etain all r eceipts cover ing
maintenance on your small off--r oad engine, but
POULAN /WEED EATER cannot deny warran-
ty solely for t h elackof re c e iptsorforyourfa ilure
to ensure the per for mance of all scheduled
maintenance. As the s mall off--road engine
owner, y ou should b e a w ar e that POULAN /
WEED EA TER may deny you w ar r anty cover-
age if your small off--road engine or a part of it
hasfailed dueto abuse,neglect, improperm ain-
tenance, unapproved modifications, or the use
of parts not made or approved by the original
equipment manufacturer. You are responsible
for presenting your small o f f--road engine to a
POULAN /WEED EATER authorized repair
center as soon as a problem exists. Warr anty
repairs should be completed in a reasonable
amount of time, not to exceed 30 days. If you
have any questions regarding your warr anty
rights and responsibilities, you should contact
your nearest aut hor ized service center or call
POULAN /WEED EATER at 1--800--554--6723.
W ARRANTY COMMENCEMENT DA TE:
The
war ranty period begins on the date the small
off--road engine is purchased.

COVERAGE:
This w a rr anty shall be for a per i-
od oftwoyears from the initial date of pur chase.

Repair or replace-
ment of any w ar r anted part will be perfor med at
no charge to the owner at an approved POU-
LAN/WEED EATER servicing center . If you

W ARRANTY PERIOD:
Any war r anted part
which is not scheduled for replacement as re-
quired maintenance, or whichis scheduled only
for regular inspection to the e f fect of ”repair or
replace as necessary ” shall be w ar r anted for 2
