YOUR WARRANTY RIGHT S ANDOBLIGA-
TIONS: T he U.S. Environmental Protection
Agency, California Air Resources Board, Envi-
ronment Canada and Poulan/WEED EA TER
are pleased to explain the emissions control
system warranty on your year 2005 and later
small of f--road engine. In California, all small
off--road engines m ust be designed, built, and
equipped to meet the State’s stringent anti--
smog standards. Poulan/WEED EA TER must
warranttheemissioncontrolsystemonyour
small off--road engine for the periods of time
listed below provided there has been no abuse,
neglect, or impr oper maintenance of your small
off--road engine. Your emission control system
includes parts such as the carburetor and the
ignition system. Where awarrantable condition
exists, Poulan/WEED EATER will repair your
small of f--road eng ine e ngine a t n o cost to you.
Expenses covered under warranty include
diagnosis, parts and labor . MANUFACTUR-
ER’S W ARRANTY COVERAGE: If any emis-
sions related par t on your engine (as listed u n-
der Emissions Control W arranty Parts List) is
defective or a defect in the materials or work-
manship of the engine causes the failure of
such an emission related part, the part will be
repaired or replaced by Poulan/WEED EA T-
ER. OWNER’S W AR RANT Y RESPONS IBI-
LITIES: As the small off--road engine engine
owner, you are responsible for the perfor-
mance of the required maintenance listed in
your instruction manual. Poulan/WEED EAT-
ER recommends that you retain all receipts
covering maintenance on your small o ff--road
engine, but Poulan/WEED E A TER cannot
deny warranty solely for the lack of receipts or
for your failure t o ensure the performance of all
scheduled maintenance. As the small of f--road
engine engine owner , you should be aware that
Poulan /WEED EATER m ay deny you warran-
ty coverage if your small off--road engine en-
gine or a part of i t has failed due to abuse, ne-
glect, improper maintenance, unapproved
modifications, or the use of parts not made or
approved by the original equipment manufac-
turer. You areresponsiblefor presentingyour
small off--road engine to a Poulan/WEED
EA TER authorized repair center as soon as a
problem exists. Warranty r epairs should be
completed i n a reasonable amount o f time, no t
to exceed 30 days. If you have a ny questions
regarding your warranty rights and responsibili-
ties, you should contact your nearest autho-
rized service center or call Poulan/WEED
EA TER at 1--800--554--6723.
WARRANTY COMMENCEMENT DA TE:
The warranty period begins on the date the
small of f--road eng ine i s purchased. LENGTH
OF COVERAGE: This warranty shall be for a
period of two years from the initial date of pur-
chase. WHAT IS COVERED: REPAIR OR
REPLACEMENT OF P ARTS. Repair or re-
placement of any warranted part will be per-
formed at no charge to the owner at an ap-
proved Poulan/WEED EA TER servicing
center . If you have any questions regarding
your warranty rights and responsibilities, you
should contact your nearest a uthorized service
center or call Poulan/WEED EA TER at
1--800--554--6723. WARRANTY PE RIOD :
Any warranted part which is not scheduled for
replacement as required maintenance, or
which is scheduled only for regular inspection
to the ef fect o f “repair or replace as necessary”
shall be warranted for 2 years. Any warranted
part which is scheduled for r eplacement as re-
quired maintenance shall be warranted for the
period of tim e up to the first scheduled replace-
ment point for that part. DIAGNOSIS: The
owner shall not be charged for diagnostic labor
which leads to the determination that a war-
ranted part i s defective if the diagnostic work i s
performed a t an appr oved Poulan/WEED
EA TER servicing center . CONSEQUENT I AL
DAMA GES: Po ulan /WEED EA TER may be li-
able for damages to other engine components
caused by the failure of a warranted part still
under warranty. WHA T IS NOT COVERED:
All failures caused by abuse, neglect, or im-
proper maintenance are not covered. ADD--
ON OR MODI F IE D PARTS : Th e u se of ad d--
on or modified parts can be grounds for
disallowing a warranty claim. Poulan/WEED
EA TER is not liable to cover failures of war-
ranted parts caused by the use of add--on or
modified parts. HOW TO FILE A CLAI M : If
you have any questions regarding your war-
ranty r ights and responsibilities, you should
contact your nearest authorized service center
or call Pou lan/ WEED EATER at
1--800--554--6723. WHERE TO GET WAR-
RANTY SERVICE: Warranty services or re-
pairs shall be provided at all Poulan/WEED
EA TER service centers. Call:
