SAFETY NOTICE: E xposure to vibrations

ASSEMBLY
Protective gloves (not provided) should be
worn during assembly .
ATTACHING THEBA R & CHAIN(If not
already attached)
WARNING: If rece ived assemb led,
repeat all steps to en sure your saw is properly
assembled and all fasteners are secure. A l-
ways wear gloves when handling the chain.
The chain is sharp and can cut you even when
it is not moving!
1. Loosen and remove the chain brake
nuts and the chain brake from the saw .
2. Remove the plastic shipping spacer (if
present).

3. Turn adjusting screw on bar counter-
clockwise to move the tensioning rack
as far as it will go toward the front of the
bar.

4. Slidethe barbehind clutchdrum untilbar
stops aga inst clutch drum sprocket.

5. Prepare the chain by checking the proper
direction.Without foll owingthe illustrationit
is easy t o place t he chainon the saw in th e
wrong direction. Use the il lustration of the
chain to determine the proper direction.
