Once each year , ensure muffler m ounting
screws are secure and tightened properly to
prevent damage.

1. Loosen andremove the2 screws from the
muffler cover.
2. Remove the muffler cover .
3. Tighten the2 muffler m ountingscrews se-
curely .
4. Reinstall muffler cover and 2 screws.
Tighten securely.
INSPECT MUFFLER AND SPARK
ARRESTING SCREEN
WARNING: T he muffler on this prod-
uct contains chemicals known to the State of
California to cause cancer.
As the unit is used, carbon deposits build up
on the muffler and spark arresting screen,
and must be removed to avoid creating a fire
hazard or affecting engine performance.

Replace the spark arresting screen every 50
hours ofoperation or ifany damage orbreaks
in the screen a re noted.
NOTE: Donot a ttemptto cleanthe spark ar-
resting screen.
1. Loosen and r emo vethe 2screws fromthe
muffler cover. Remove the muffler cover.
2. Loosen and remove both screws from the
exhaust diverter.
3. Remove the e xhaust diverter and spark
arresting screen.
4 Install new spark arresting screen.
5. Reinstall exhaust diverter and both
screws. Tighten screws securely.
6. Reinstall muffler cover and 2 screws.
Tighten securely .
NOTE: If any part of the m uffler is cracked,
broken or damaged, we recommend that the
muffler be replaced.
CARBURETOR ADJUSTMENTS
There is no screw for idle adjustment on your
blower. The throttle lever is used to control
engine speed. The throttle lever can be
placed in one of four positions: STOP, IDLE
or
, FULL THROTTLE or , a nd one
intermittentposition. Ifyourenginewillnotrun
properly or you require further assistance,
contact an authorized service dealer or call

STORAGE
WARNING: Perform the following
steps after each use:
S Allow engine to cool, and secure the unit
before storing or transporting.
S Store unit and fuel in a well ventilated area
where fuel vapors cannot reach sparks or
open flames from water heaters, electric
motors or switches, furnaces, etc.
S Store unit with all guards in place. Position
unit so that any s harp object cannot acci-
dentally cause injury.
S Store unit and fuel well out of the reach of
children.
SEASONAL STORAGE
Prepare unit for storage at endof season or if
it will not be used for 30 days or m ore.
If your unit is to be stored for a period of time:
S Clean the entire unit before lengthy storage.
S Store in a clean dry area.
S Lightly oil external metal surfaces.
FUEL SYSTEM
Under FUELING ENGINE i n t he OPERA-

beled IMPORTANT regarding the use of ga-
sohol in your engine.
Fuel stabilizer i s a n acceptable alternative in
minimizing the formation of f uel gum dep osits
during storage. Add stabilizer to gasoline in fuel
tank or fuel storage container . Follow the m ix
instructions found on stabilizer container. Run
engine at least 5 minutes after adding stabilizer .
