YOUR W ARRANTY RIGHTS ANDOBLIGA-
TIONS: The U.S. Environmental Protection
Agency, California Air Resources Board, Envi-
ronment Canada and ELECTROLU X HO ME
PRODUCTS, INC., are pleased to explain the
emissions control system war r anty on your
year2002--2004 small of f--road engine. In C ali-
fornia, all new small off--road engines must be
designed, built, and equipped to meet the
State’s stringent anti--smog standards. ELEC-
TROLUX HOME PRODUCTS, INC., must
warr ant the emission control system on your
small of f--road engine for the per iods of time
listedbelowprovidedthere hasbeen noabuse,
neglect, orimpropermaintenance ofyoursmall
off--road engine engine. Your emission control
system includes parts such as the carburetor
and the ignition system. Where a warrantable
condition exi sts, ELECTRO LU X HOM E
PRODUCTS, INC., will repair your small off--
road engine engine at no cost to you. Ex-
penses cover ed under warr anty include diag-
nosis, parts and labor. MANUF ACTURER’S
W ARRANTY COVERAGE: If any emissions
related par t on your engine (as listed under
Emissions Control Warr anty Par ts List) is de-
fective ora defect inthe m aterials orworkman-
ship oftheenginecauses the failureof such an
emission related par t, the part will be repaired
or r eplaced by ELECTR OLU X H O MEPROD-
UCTS, INC. OWNER’S WARRANTY RE-
SPONSIBILITIES: As the small of f--road en-
gine engine owner,you are responsible for the
performance of the required maintenance
listed in your instruction manual. ELECTRO-
LUX HOME PRODUCTS, INC., recommends
that you retain all receipts covering m ainte-
nance on your small off--road engine, but
ELECTROLUX HOME PRODUCTS, INC.,
cannot deny warranty solely for the lack of re-
ceipts or for y our failure to ensure the perfor-
mance of all scheduled maintenance. As the
small off--road engine engine owner, you
should be aw a re that ELECTR O LU X HOM E
PRODUCTS, INC., may deny you war r anty
coverage if your small of f--road engine engine
or a part of it has failed due to abuse, neglect,
improper maintenance, unapproved modifica-
tions, orthe use of par ts not m ade orapproved
by the or iginal equipment manufacturer. You
are r esponsible for presenting your small off--
road engine to an ELECTROLUX HOME
PRODUCTS, INC., authorized repaircenteras
soon as a pr oblem exists. W arr anty repairs
should be com pleted in a reasonable amount
of time, notto exceed 30days. If youhave any
questions regarding your w arr anty rights and
responsibilities, you should contact your near-
est authorized serv ice center or call ELEC-
TROLUX HOME PRODUCTS, INC., at
1--800--554--6723. W ARRANTY C OM-
MENCEMENT DATE: The warr anty period
begins on the date the small off--road engineis
purchased. LENGTH OF COVERAGE: This
war rantyshall befora periodof two yearsfrom
the initial date of purchase. WHAT IS COV-
ERED: REPAIR OR R EPLAC EM ENT OF
P ARTS. Repair or r eplacement of any w ar-
ranted part will be per formed at no charge to
the owner at an approved ELECTRO LU X
HOME PRODUCTS, INC., servicing center . If
you have any questions regarding your war-
ranty rights and responsibilities, you should
contact your nearest author ized serv icecenter
or call ELECTROLUX HOME PRODUCTS,
INC., at 1--800--554--6723. WARRANTY PE-
RIOD: Any war r anted part which is not sched-
uled for r eplacementas requiredmaintenance,
or which is scheduled only for regular inspec-
tion to the effect of “repair orreplace as neces-
sary” shall be warranted for 2 years. Any war-
rantedpart whichis scheduled forreplacement
asrequiredmaintenance shallbe w ar r antedfor
the period of time u p to the first scheduled re-
placement point for that part. DIAGNOSIS:
The owner shall not be charged for diagnostic
labor w hich leads to the determination that a
warr anted part is defective if the diagnostic
wor k is per formed at an approved ELECTR O-
LUX HOME PRODUCTS, INC., servicing
center. CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES:
ELECTROLUX HOME PRODUCTS, INC.,
may be liable for damages to other engine
components caused by the failure of a war-
ranted part still under w ar r anty.WHAT ISNOT
COVERED: All failures caused by abuse, ne-
glect, or improper maintenance are not cov-
ered. ADD--ON OR MODIFIED PARTS: The
use of add--on or m odified parts can be
grounds for disallowing a warranty claim.
ELECTROLUX HOME PRODUCTS, INC., is
not liable to cover failures of warr anted parts
caused bythe useof add--on ormodifiedparts.
HOW TO FILE A CLAIM: If you have any
questions regarding your w arr anty rights and
responsibilities, you should contact your near-
est authorized serv ice center or call ELEC-
TROLUX HOME PRODUCTS, INC., at
1--800--554--6723. WHERE T O GET WAR-
RANTY SER VICE: Warr anty ser vices or re-
pairs shall be provided at all ELECTROLU X
HOME PRODUCTS, INC., service centers.

PLACEMENT AND REPAIR OF EMISSION
RELA TED P ARTS: Any ELEC TROLUX
HOME PRODUCTS, INC., approved replace-
ment part used in the performance of any war-
ranty maintenance or repair on emission r e-
lated par ts will be provided without charge to
the owner if the part is under warranty. EM IS-
SION CONTROL W ARRANTY PARTS LIST:
Carbur etor, Ignition System: Spark Plug (cov-
ered up to maintenance schedule), Ignition
Module, Muf fler including catalyst. MAINTE-
NANCESTATEMENT:Theownerisresponsi-
ble for the performance of all required main-
tenance as defined inthe instruction manual.
