WARRANTY STATEMENT
YOUR WARRANTY R IGHTS AND OBLIGA-
TIONS:

POULAN/WEED EATER, DIVISION OF WCI
OUTDOOR PRODUCTS a re pleased to ex-
plain the emissions control system warranty on
your year 2000--2003 small o f f--road engine. In
California, all new small o f f--road engi nes must
be designed, built, and equipped to m eet the
State’s s tr ingent ant i--smog standar ds. P O U-
LAN/WEED EATER must w ar r ant the emission
control system onyoursmall off--road enginefor
the per iods of time l isted bel ow provided t here
has been no abuse, neglect, or impr oper main-
tenance of your sm all off--road engine engine.
Your emission control system includes parts
such as the car buretor and the ignition system.
Where a warr antable condition exists, P O U-
LAN/WEED EATER will r epair y our small off--
road engineengine at no cost to you. Expenses
covered under warr anty include diagnosis,
parts and labor.
MANUFACTURER’S W AR-
RANTY COVERAGE:
If any emissions r elated
part on your engine (as listed under Emissions
Control WarrantyParts List)is defective orade-
fect i n the materials or workmanship of the en-
gine causes the failure of such an emission re-
lated par t, the part w ill be repair ed or r eplaced
by POU L AN/WEED EATER.
OWNER’S
W ARRANTY RESPONSIB ILITIES:
As the
small off--road engine engine owner, you arere-
sponsible for the performance of the required
maintenance listed in your instruction manual.
POULAN /WEED EATER recommends that
you r etain all receipts cover ing maintenance on
your small off--road engine, but POULAN/
WEED EATER cannot deny warr anty solely for
the lack o f r eceipts or for your failure to ensure
the perform ance of all scheduled maintenance.
As the small off--road engine engine ow ner,you
should be aware that POULAN/WEED EA TER
may deny you warranty coverage if your small
off--road engine engine or a part o f it has failed
due to abuse, neglect, improper m aintenance,
unapproved modifications, o r the use of parts
not made orapproved bythe or iginal equipment
manufacturer. Yo u ar e responsible for present-
ing your sm all of f--road engine to a POULAN/
WEED EA TER authorized r epair center as
soon as a p r oblem exists. War r anty r epair s
should be com pleted in areasonable amount of
time, not to exceed 30 days. If you have any

WAR-
RANTY COMMENCEMENT DATE:
The war-
ranty per iod begins on the date the sm all of f--
road engine is pur chased.
LENG TH OF C O V-
ERAGE:
This warr anty shall be for a period of
two years from the initial date of pur chase.
WH AT IS CO VERED: REPAIR O R RE-
PLACEMENT OF P ARTS.
Repair o r replace-
ment of any warranted part w ill be perfor med at
no charge to the owner at an approved POU-
LAN/WEED EATER servicing center . If you
have any questions regarding your warr anty
rights and respons ibilities, you should contact
your nearest authorized service center or call

W ARRANTY PERIOD:
Any war r anted part
which is not schedul ed for replacement as re-
quired maintenance, or w hichis scheduled only
for regular inspection to the effect o f “ r epair or
replace as necessary” shall be war ranted for 2
years. Any war r anted par t which is scheduled
for replacement as r equired maintenance s hall
be warr anted for the per iod of time up to the first
scheduled r eplacement point for that par t.
DIAGNOSIS:
The o w ner shall not be charged
for diagnostic labor which leads to the deter-
mination that a warr anted part is defective if the
diagnostic work is performed at an approved
POULAN/WEED EATER ser v icing center.
CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES:
POULAN/
WEED EATER may be liable for damages to
other engine components caused by the failure
of a warr anted part still under warranty.
WHAT
IS NOT COVERED
: All failures caused by
abuse, neglect, or improper maintenance ar e
not covered.
ADD--ON OR MODIFIED
P ARTS:
The use of add--on or m odified parts
canbe groundsfor disallowinga war r antyclaim.
POULAN /WEED E ATER is not l iable to cover
failures of w arr anted parts caused by the use of
add--on or modified parts.

POULAN/WEED EA TER approved replace-
ment part used i n the performance of any war-
ranty maintenance orrepairon emission r elated
parts w illbe providedwithout chargeto theown-
er if the part i s under warranty.

CONTROL WARRANTY PARTS LIST:
Car-
buretor, Ignition System: Spark Plug (covered
up to maintenance schedule) , Ignition M odule,
Muffler including catalyst.
MAINTENANCE
STATEMENT:
The owner is responsible for the
performance of all r equired maintenance as de-
fined in the instruction manual.
This engine is c ertified to be emissions compliant for the following use:
Moderate (50 hours)
Intermediate (125 hours)
Extended (300 hours)
