WARRANTY STATEMENT
YOUR WARRANTY RIGHTS AND OBLIGA-
TIONS:
The U.S. Environmental Protection

POULAN/WEED EATER, DIVISION OF WCI
OUTDOOR PRODUCTS, INC., are pleased to
explain the emissions control system war ranty
on your year 2000--2003 small off--road engine.
In California, all new small off--road engines
must be designed, built, and equipped to meet
the State’s stringent anti--smog standards.
POULAN/WEED EATER must warran t the
emission control system on your small off--road
engine for the periods of time listed below pr o-
vided there has been no abuse, neglect, or im-
proper maintenance of your small off--road en-
gine engine. Your emission cont r ol syst em in-
cludes partssuch asthe car buretorand theigni-
tion system. Wher e a warr antable condition ex-
ists, POULAN /WEED EATER will repair your
small of f--r oad engine engine at no cost to you.
Expenses covered under warranty include
diagnosis, parts and labor .
MANUFACTUR-
ER’S W ARRANTY COVERAGE:
If any emis-
sions related part on your engine (as listed un-
der Emissions C ontr ol War ranty Parts List) is
defective or a defect i n the materials o r work-
manship of t heengine causesthe f ailur e ofsuch
an emission related part, the part will berepaired
or replaced by POU LAN/WEED EATER.
OWNER’S W ARRANTY RESPONSIBILI-
TIES:
As the s m all off--road engine engi neown-
er, you are responsible f or the performance of
the r equired maintenance listed in your instruc-
tion manual. PO U LAN /WEED EA TER recom-
mends that you r etain all r eceipts cover ing
maintenance on your small off--r oad engine, but
POULAN /WEED EATER cannot deny warran-
ty solely for t h elack o f rec e iptsorfor yourfailure
to ensure the per for mance of all scheduled
maintenance. As the sm alloff--road engineen-
gine owner,you shoul d b eaware t hatPOULAN/
WEED EA TER may deny you w ar r anty cover-
age i f your small of f--road engine engine or a
part of i t has failed due to abuse, negl ect, im-
propermaintenance, unapprovedmodifications,
or the use of par ts not m ade orapproved by the
original equi pment manufacturer. You ar e re-
sponsible for presenting your small off--road en-
gine to a POULAN/WEED EA TER authorized
repair center as soonas a problem exists. War-
ranty repairs should be completed in a r eason-
able amount of time, not to exceed 30 days. If

W ARRANTY COMMENCEMENT DA TE:
The
war ranty period begins on the date the small
off--road engine is purchased.
LENG TH OF
COVERAGE:
This w a rr anty shall be for a per i-
od of t w o years from t he initial date of pur chase.
WH AT IS CO VERED: REPAIR O R RE-
PLACEMENT OF P ARTS.
Repair or replace-
ment of any w ar r anted part will be perfor med at
no charge to the owner at an approved POU-
LAN/WEED EATER servicing center . If you
have any questions regarding your warr anty
rights and responsibilities, you should contact
your nearest aut hor ized service center or call

W ARRANTY PERIOD:
Any war r anted part
which is not scheduled for replacement as re-
quired maintenance, or which i s scheduled onl y
for regular inspection to the e f fect of “repair or
replace as necessary ” shall be w ar r anted for 2
years. Any warr anted part which i s scheduled
for replacement as required maintenance shall
be war ranted f or the period of time up t o the fir st
scheduled r eplacement point for that par t.
DIAGNOSIS:
The owner shall not be charged
for diagnostic labor which leads to the deter-
mination that a w ar r anted part is defective if the
diagnostic work i s perfor med at an appr oved
POULAN/WEED EATER se rvicing center.
CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES:
POULAN/
WEED E ATER may be liable for damages to
other engine components caused by the failure
of a warr anted par t still under war r anty.
WHAT
IS NOT COVERED
: All failures caused by
abuse, neglect, or improper maintenance ar e
not covered.
ADD--ON OR MODIFIED
P ARTS:
The use of add--on or modified parts
can be gr oundsfor disallowinga w ar rantyclaim.
POULAN /WEED EATER is not liable to cover
failures of warranted parts caused bythe use of
add--on or modified parts.

MAINTENANCE, REPLACEMENT AND RE-
PAIR O F EMISSION R ELATED P ARTS
:Any
POULAN/WEED EA TER approved replace-
ment part used in the performance of any w ar-
ranty m aintenance o rrepair on emission related
parts will beprovided without chargeto the o w n-
er if the part i s under warranty.

CONTROL WARRANTY PARTS LIST:
Car-
buretor, I gnition S ystem: S par k Plug (covered
up to maintenance schedule), Ignition Module,
Muffler including catalyst.
MAINTENANCE
STATEMENT:
The owner is responsible for the
performance of all required m aintenance as de-
fined in the instruction manual.
This engine is certified t o be emissions compliant for the following use:
Moderate (50 hours)
Intermediate (125 hours)
Extended (300 hours)
