YOUR W ARRANTY R IGHTS ANDOBLIGA-
TIONS: The U. S. Environmental Protection
Agency and POULAN/WEED EATER, DIVI-
SION OF WCI OUTDOOR PRODUCTS are
pleased to explain the emissions control sys-
tem war r anty on your lawn and garden equip-
ment engine. All new utility and lawn and gar-
den equipment engines must be designed,
built, and equipped to meet the str ingent anti--
smog standards. POU L AN/WEED EATER
must warrant the emission control system on
yourlawnand gardenequipmentengine forthe
periods of tim e listed belowprovided there has
been no abuse, neglect, or i mpr oper mainte-
nance of your law n and gar den equipment en-
gine. Your emission control system includes
parts such as the carbur etor and the ignition
system. Where a war rantable c ondition exits,
POULAN/WEED EATER w ill repair your lawn
and garden equipment engine at no cost to
you. Expenses covered under warranty in-
clude diagnosis, parts and labor. MANUF AC-
TURER’S WARRANTY COVERAGE: If any
emissionsrelated par tonyourengine ( aslisted
under Emissions Control War r anty Parts List)
is def ective oradefect in t hematerialsorwork-
manship of the engine causes the failure of
such an emission related par t, the part will be
repairedor replacedbyPOULAN/WEEDEA T-
ER. OWNER’S W ARRANTY RESPONSIBI-
LITIES:Asthelawnandgarden equi pmenten-
gine owner, you are responsible for the
performance of the required maintenance
listed in your O w ner’s Manual. PO ULAN/
WEEDEATERrecomm endsthat youretain all
receipts covering maintenance on your lawn
and garden equipm ent engine, but POULAN/
WEED EATER cannot deny war r anty solely
for the lack of r eceipts or for your f ailure to en-
sure the performance of all scheduled mainte-
nance. As the lawn and garden equipment
engine owner, you should b e a w ar e thatPOU-
LAN /WEED EA TER may deny you warranty
coverage i f your lawn and garden equipment
engine or a part of i t has failed due to abuse,
neglect, improper maintenance, unapproved
modifications, or the use of par ts not made or
approved by the o r iginal equipment manufac-
turer. Yo u are responsible for presenting your
lawn and garden equipment engine to a PO U-
LAN /WEED EA TER authorized repair center
as soon as a problem exists. War r anty r epair s
should be c ompleted in a reasonable amount
of time,not to exceed30days. If youhave any
questions r egarding your warr anty r ights and
responsibilities, you should contact your near-
est authorized ser vice c enter orcall POULAN/
WEED EATER at 1--800--554--6723. WAR-
RANTY COMMENCEMENT DA TE: The
war ranty per iod begins on the date the lawn
and garden equipment engine is purchased.
LENGTH OF COVERAGE: This war r anty
shall b efor aperiod oftwo year sfrom theinitial
date of purchase. WHAT IS COVERED :RE-
P AIR OR REPLACEMENT OF PARTS. Re-
pair or replacement of any warr anted part w ill
be perfor med at no charge to the owner at an
approved PO ULAN/WEED EATER s ervicin g
center. If you have any questions regarding
your w ar r anty r ights and r es ponsibilities, you
should c ontact yournear estauthorizedservice
center or call POU L AN/WEED EATER at
1--800--554--6723 WARRANTY PERIOD:
Any warranted part which is not scheduled for
replacement as r equir ed maintenance, or
which is scheduled only for regular inspection
to the e f fect of “r epair orreplace asnecessary”
shall be warr anted for 2 years. Any warr anted
part w hich is schedul ed forreplacement as re-
quired maintenance shall be warranted for the
period of t imeup to t hefirst scheduledreplace-
ment point for that part. DIAGNOSIS: The
ownershall not be chargedfor diagnostic l abor
which leads to the determination that a war-
ranted par t is defectiveif the d iagnostic w or kis
performed at an approved POULAN /W EED
EATER servicing c enter. CONSEQUENTIAL
DAMAGES: POULAN/WEED EATER may
be liable for damages to other engine compo-
nents caused by t he f ailure of awarrantedpart
still under warranty. WHAT IS N O T COV-
ERED: All failures caused by abuse, neglect,
or impr oper m aintenance are not covered.
ADD--ON ORMODIFIED P ARTS: Theuse of
add--on or modified parts can be g rounds for
disallowing awar ranty c laim.POULAN/WEED
EATER is not liable to cover failures of war-
ranted parts caused by the use of add--on or
modified parts. HOW TO FILE A CLAIM: If
you have any questions regarding your war-
ranty rights and responsibilities, you should
contact your near estauthorized servicecenter
or call POULAN/WEED EATER at
1--800--554--6723. WHERE TO GET WAR-

EATERapprovedreplacement part usedin t he
performance of any w ar ranty maintenance or
repair on emission related parts will be pro-
vided without charge to the owner if the part is
