EMISSION CONTROL WARRANTY STATEMENT
YOUR WARRANTY RIGHTS AND OBLIGA-
TIONS: The U.S. Environm ental Protection
Agency, California Air Resources Board, Envi-
ronment Canada and ELECTROLU X HO ME
PRODUCTS, INC., are pleased to explain the
emissions control system warr anty on your
year 2002--2004 small off--road engine. In Cali-
fornia, all new sm all of f--road engines m ust be
designed, built, and equipped to meet the
State’s stringent anti--smog standards. ELEC-
TROLUX HOME PRODUCTS, INC., must
warr ant the emission control system on your
small off--road engine for t he per iods of time
listed belowprovidedthere hasbeen noabuse,
neglect, or impr opermaintenance o f yoursmall
off--road engine engine. Your em ission control
system i ncludes parts such as the carburetor
and t he ignition syst em. Where a warrantable
condition exists, ELECTROLU X H O ME
PRODUCTS, INC., will repair your sm all off--
road engine engine at no cost to you. Ex-
penses covered under w ar r anty include diag-
nosis, parts and labor. MANUFACTURER’S
W ARRANTY COVERAGE: If any emissions
related par t o n your engine (as l isted under
Emissions Control Warr anty Parts Li st) is de-
fective or a defect in the m aterials or w orkm an-
ship of the engine causes the failureof such an
emission related part, the part will be repaired
or replaced by ELECTROLU X HOM E PR OD-
UCTS, INC. OWNER’S W ARRANTY RE-
SPONSIB ILITIES: A s the s m all off--road en-
gine engine owner, y ou are responsible for the
performance of the required m aintenance
listed in your instruction manual. ELECTRO-
LUX HOME PRODUCTS, INC., recommends
that you retain all receipts covering m ainte-
nance on your small off--road engine, but
ELECTROLUX HOME PRODUCTS, INC.,
cannot deny warranty solely for the lack of r e-
ceipts or for your failure to ensure the perfor-
mance o f all scheduled m aintenance. As the
small of f--road engine engine owner, you
should be awar e t hat ELECTR O LU X HOM E
PRODUCTS, INC., may deny you war r anty
coverage if your small off--road engine engine
or a part of it has failed due to abuse, neglect,
improper maintenance, unapproved modifica-
tions, or the use of parts not made or appr oved
by the o r iginal equipment manufacturer. You
are responsible for presenting your small off--
road engine to an ELECTRO LU X HO M E
PRODUCTS, INC., authorized repair centeras
soon as a p roblem exists. W ar ranty repair s
should be completed in a reasonable amount
of time, not to exceed 30 days. If you have any
questions regar ding your warranty rights and
responsibilities, you should contact your near-
est authorized ser vice center or call ELEC-
TROLUX HOM E PRODUCTS, INC., at
1--800--554--6723. W ARRANTY COM-
MENCEMENT DATE: The warranty period
begins on the date the sm all off--road engine is
purchased. LENGTH OF COVERAGE: This
war ranty s hall be fora period of tw o years fr om
the initial date of purchase. WHAT IS CO V-
ERED: REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT OF
P ARTS. Repair o r replacement of any war-
ranted par t will be performed at no charge to
the owner at an approved ELECTRO LU X
HOME PRODUCTS, INC., servicing center . If
you have any questions regarding your war-
ranty rights and responsibilities, you should
contact y our near est authorized service c enter
or call ELECTROLUX HOME PRODUCTS,
INC., at 1--800--554--6723. W ARRANTY PE-
RIOD: Any war r anted part which is not sched-
uled for replacement as requir ed m aintenance,
or which is scheduled only for regular inspec-
tion to the effect of “ repair orreplace as neces-
sary” shall be w ar r anted for 2 year s. Any war-
ranted par t w hich is scheduledfor r eplacement
asrequiredmaintenance shallbe warr antedfor
the period of time up to the first scheduled re-
placement point for t hat part. DIAGNOSIS:
The ow ner shal l not be charged for diagnostic
labor which leads t o the deter mination that a
warr anted part is defective if the diagnostic
wor k is performed at an approved ELECTRO-
LUX HOME PRODUCTS, INC., servicing
center. CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES:
ELECTROLUX HOME PRODUCTS, INC.,
may be liable for damages to other engine
components caused by t he failure of a war-
ranted part still under war r anty. WHAT IS N O T
COVER ED: All failures caused by abuse, ne-
glect, or impr oper maintenance a r e not cov-
ered. ADD--ON OR MODIFIED PARTS: The
use of add--on or modified parts can be
grounds for disallowing a warr anty claim.
ELECTROLUX HOME PRODUCTS, INC., is
not liable to c over failur es o f war r anted parts
caused by the u se of add--on or m odified parts.
HOW TO FILE A CLAIM: If you have any
questions regar ding your warranty rights and
responsibilities, you should contact your near-
est authorized ser vice center or call ELEC-
TROLUX HOM E PRODUCTS, INC., at
1--800--554--6723. WHERE TO GET WAR-
RANTY SERVICE: Warranty ser vices or re-
pairs shall be provided at al l ELECTROLU X
HOME PRODUCTS, INC., service centers.

RELA TED PARTS: Any ELECTR OLU X
HOME PRODUCTS, INC., approved replace-
ment part used in the performance of any w ar-
ranty maintenance or repair on e m ission re-
lated parts will be provided without char ge t o
the ow ner if the par t is under w ar r anty. EMIS-
SION CONTROL WARRANTY P ARTS LIST:
Carbur etor, Ignition System: Spark Plug (cov-
ered up to maintenance schedule), Ignition
Module, Muffler including catalyst. MAINTE-
NANCE ST A TEMENT: Theowner isresponsi-
ble for the performance of all requir ed mainte-
nance as defined in the instruction manual.
