mercial logging, a chain brake is required
and shall not be rem oved or otherwise dis-
abled to comply with Federal OSHA Regula-
tions for Commercial Logging.

through prolonged use of gasoline powered

ways wear gloves when handling the chai n.
The chain is s har p and can cut you even when
it is not moving!
1. Loosen and remove the chain brake
nuts and the chain brake from the saw.
2. Remove the plastic shipping spacer (if
present).

3. An adjusting pin and screw is used to ad-
just the tension of t he chain. It is very i m-
portant when assem bling the bar, t hat the
pin l ocated on the adj usting screw aligns
into a hole in thebar. Tur ningthe screwwill
move the adjustment pin up and dow n the
screw. Locate this adjustment before you
begin mounting t he bar onto the saw. See
illustr atio n b elo w.

4. Turn the adjusting screw by hand coun-
terclockwise until the adjusting pin just
touches the stop. Thi s should allow the
pin to be near the correct position.
5. Slide guide bar behind clutch drum until
guide bar stops against clutch drum
sprocket.

6. Carefully remove the chain from the pack-
age. Hold chain with the drive links as
shown.
