Engine speed has been factory set to provide safe operation.
Tampering with the engine speed adjustment could result in over-
heating of attachments and could cause a fire. Never attempt to “speed-up” the en-
gine to obtain more performance. Both the output voltage and frequency will be
thrown out of standard by this practice, endangering attachments and the user.
You MUST unplug any load from the generator before starting to
prevent permanent damage to any appliances.
TO START THE ENGINE
Never run engine indoors or in enclosed, poor ventilated
areas, engine exhaust contains carbon monoxide, an
odorless and deadly gas.
1. On the engine there is a ON/OFF switch located on the front panel of the
engine. Place this switch to the "ON" position
2. Push primer button three times. Wait two seconds between each push. In
cold weather (50ºF/10ºC or below) push five times.
NOTE: Primer may be needed to restart a warm engine after a short shutdown.
3. Grasp handle on rope starter and pull slowly until
resistance is felt. Let the rope rewind slowly. Pull rope
with a rapid full arm stroke. Let rope rewind slowly.
Repeat if necessary.
IMPORTANT: Allow generator to run at no load for 5
minutes upon each initial start-up to allow engine and
generator to stabilize.
STOPPING ENGINE
1. Disconnect all electrical loads.
2. Turn ON/OFF switch to "OFF" position.
