ALROH EDGER
CONTROLS & BENEFITS
Congratulations
Thank you for buying a quality designed and manufactured Australian made
product. Before operating the edger, we recommend that you read this oper-
ating guide and the engine manual. THINK SAFETY AT ALL TIMES!
Know your machine & read these instructions.
Keep hands & feet clear of the blades & moving parts.
Learn how to stop the edger in event of an emergency.
Check your lawn is free of obstructions, stones, metal or other items
likely to damage the blades.
Maintenance
Alroh Residential Edgers are all fitted with sealed bearings to give a long
maintenance free performance.
Avoid using a hose or pressure washer to clean the edger as this may
force water into the bearings and engine.
Follow the engine manufacturer’s recommendations for regular mainte-
nance.
Avoid tipping the edger backwards or on it’s side either in transit or for
service as this may allow the engine oil to pass into the cylinder head,
carburettor and exhaust.
Starting Procedure
Prior to starting, check oil and fuel levels. We recommend plain
unleaded petrol rather than Premium be used.
Turn the fuel and engine switch to the on positions.
Check that the blade is fully secured by the blade nut.
Check that the edger blade is fully lifted above the ground.
The choke may need to be engaged for the first start.
Set the throttle lever to a medium speed (half way).
Pull the recoil starter in a smooth motion and avoid reaching the
limit of the rope. Return the handle to the start position before re-
leasing it.
Once started, disengage the choke and adjust the engine revs to al-
low smooth operation of the clutch controls.
Use the height adjuster lever to obtain the best cutting level for
your turf conditions.
Stopping Procedure
Lift the edger cutter blade.
Turn the engine stop switch to the off position.
If this fails to stop the engine, engaging the choke will normally
stop the engine or by removing the spark plug lead.
Always stop the engine before working on the edger.
