IDENTIFICATION OF SYMBOLS
Move ON/STOP switch to
the ON position.
Slowly press primer bulb
6 times.
Pull the starter rope
sharply 5 times with your
right hand.
Pull the starter rope sharply
with your right hand u ntil
the eng ine starts.
Pull choke/fast idle lever
out to t he full extent (to
the FULL CHOKE posi-
tion).
Push the c hoke/fast idle
lever in to the HALF
CHOKE position.
Starting Reminder Chain Tensioning
Lift lever on bar k nob and
turn counterclockwise 1 turn
to loosen clutch cover.
Turn adjusting w heel (downward
direction) to tension chain until
chain solidly contacts bottom of
guide bar rail.
While lifting tip of guide bar, tight-
en bar knob (clockwise) securely.
Hand tighten only! Return lever
on bar knob to original position.

starting when setting up, transporting, ad-
justing or making repairs except carburetor
adjustments.

S Wear protective gear. Always use steel-toed
safety footwear with non-slip soles; snug-fit-
ting clothing; heavy-duty, n on-slip g loves;
eye protection such as non-fogging, vented
goggles or face screen; an approved safety
hard hat; and sound barriers (ear plugs or
mufflers) to protect yourhearing. Securehair
above shoulder length.
S Always use approved hearing p rotection.
Regular users should have hearingchecked
regularly as chain saw noise can damage
hearing. Long--term exposure to noise can
result in permanent hearing impairment.
