7. Place chain over and behind clutch, fitting
the d rive li nks in th e clutch d rum sprocket.
8. Fit bottom of drive links between the
teeth in the sprocket in the nose of the
guide bar.
9. Fit chain drive links into bar groove.
10. Pull guide bar forward until chain is snug
in guide bar groove. Ensure all drive
links are in the bar groove.
11. Now, install chain brake making sure the
adjusting pin is positioned in the lower
hole in the guide bar. Remember this pin
moves the bar forward and backward as
the screw is turned.
12. Install chainbrake nutsand fingertighten
only. Once the chain is tensioned, you
will need to tigh ten chain brake nuts.

NOTE
: When adjusting chain tension, make
sure the chain brake nuts are finger tight only.
Attempting to tension the chain when t he chain
brake nuts are tight can cause damage.
Checking the tension:
Use the screwdriver end of t he chain adjust-
ment tool(bar tool) tomove the chain around
the bar. If t he chain does not rotate, it is too
tight.Iftoo loose, the chain willsag belowthe
bar.

Adjusting the tension:
Chain tension is very important. Chain
stretches during use. This is especially true
during the first few times you use your saw.
Always check chain tension each time you
use and refuel your saw. You can adjust t he
chain tension by loosening the chain brake
nuts andturning the adjusting screw 1/4 of a
turn while lifting up on the bar .
S Ifchainis tootight, turnadjusting screw 1/4
turn counterclockwise.
S If chain is too loose, turn adjusting screw
1/4 turn clockwise.

S Lift up t h e tip o f the bar and securely t ight-
en the chain brake nuts with the bar tool.
S Recheck chain tension.

WARNING: If the saw is operated
with a loose chain, the chain could jump off
the guide bar and result in serious injury .
WARNING: M uffler is very h otduring
and after use. Do not touch the muffler or al-
low combustible material such as dry grass
or fuel to do so.
OPERATING YOUR UNIT
BEFORE STARTING ENGINE
WARNING: Be sure to read the fuel
information in thesafety r ules before you be-
gin. If you donot understandthe safety rules,
do not attempt t o fuel your unit. Contact an
authorized service dealer.
BAR AND CHAIN LUB RICATION
The bar and chain require continuous lubri-
cation. Lubrication is provided by the auto-
matic oiler system when the oil tank is kept
filled. Lack o f oil will quickly ruin the ba r and
chain. Too little oil will cause overheating
shown by smoke coming from thechain and/
or discoloration of the bar.
Only use Bar and Chain Oil for bar and chain
lubrication.

FUELING ENGINE
WARNING: Remove fuel cap slowly
when refueling.
This engine is certified to o perate on unleaded
gasoline. B efore operation, gasoline m ust be
mixed with a good quality 2-cycle air-cooled
engine oil designed to be mixed a t a r atio of
40:1. A 40:1 ratio is obtained by mixing 0,125
liter of o il with 5 liters of unleaded gasoline. DO
NOT USE automotive or boat oil. These oils
will cause engine damage. When mixing fuel
follow the instructions printed on the container.
Always read and follow t he safety rules relating
to fuel before fueling your unit.
