Lubrication
Lubricating the Wheel Gears
Service Interval: Yearly—Lubricate the wheel gears.
1. Remove the wheel bolts on the rear wheels and
remove the rear wheels.
2. Apply a lubricating oil to the gear as shown in
Figure 21.

3. Install the rear wheels.
Engine Maintenance
Replacing the Air Filter
Service Interval: Yearly—Replace the air lter
(more frequently in dusty operating
conditions).
1. Perform the pre-maintenance procedures; refer to
Preparing for Maintenance.
2. Open the air lter cover and remove the old air lter
(Figure 22).

3. Install a new air lter and the air lter cover.
Changing the Engine Oil
Service Interval: After the rst 5 hours—Change the
engine oil.
Every 50 hours—Change the engine
oil.
Run the engine a few minutes before changing the oil
to warm it. Warm oil ows better and carries more
contaminants.
1. Perform the pre-maintenance procedures; refer to
Preparing for Maintenance.
2. Remove the dipstick (Figure 6).
3. Tip the mower onto its side, with the air lter up,
to drain the used oil out through the oil ll tube
(Figure 23).
