OPERATION
Adjustments
Your Model H2867 includes a set of three
thickness shims: 0.005", 0.008" and
0.013". These shims are used to set the
gap size between the side of the shear jaw
and the moving cutter. Depending on the
thickness of the material you intend to cut,
one of the three thickness shims is used to
set the desired gap. The following is a gen-
eral guideline for correct adjustment:
Sheet Metal Shim
• 25 Gauge 0.005"
• 19 Gauge 0.008"
• 16 Gauge 0.013"
Use the supplied Allen
®
wrench to adjust
the gap of the cutting jaws as shown in
Figure 1.
Test Run
Your Model H2867 has a slide style
ON/OFF switch as shown in Figure 2.
Before performing any cutting operations,
turn the shear ON and listen for any
unusual noises. If everything appears to
be in working order, you are ready to begin
cutting.
Operating this shear can propel
objects into the air, causing immedi-
ate eye damage. To protect yourself,
always wear American National
Standards Institute (ANSI) approved
safety glasses or goggles when oper-
ating this equipment. To protect your
hands, always wear leather hand pro-
tection when operating this shear.
