GENERAL INFORMATION

®
L Herbicide is a water-dispersible liquid
that is mixed in water and applied as a spray for weed
control in certain crops, Christmas trees, forestry site
preparation and release areas, and industrial areas. It may
also be applied undiluted as a basal soil treatment for brush
control in reforestation areas, rangeland, pastures and
noncrop areas, or by stem injection for brush control.
VELPAR L is an effective general herbicide providing both
contact and residual control of many annual, biennial and
perennial weeds and woody plants.
VELPAR L is noncorrosive to equipment.

STATEMENT OF
PRACTICAL TREATMENT
IF IN EYES: Hold eyelids open and flush with steady, gentle
stream of water for 15 minutes. Get medical attention.
IF ON SKIN: Wash with plenty of soap and water. Get
medical attention if irritation persists.
IF SWALLOWED: Call a physician or poison control
center. Do not induce vomiting. Drink promptly a large
quantity of milk, egg whites, gelatin solution or if these are
not available, drink large quantities of water. Avoid
alcohol.
NOTE TO PHYSICIAN: Probable mucosal damage
may contraindicate the use of gastric lavage.

DANGER! CAUSES EYE DAMAGE.
Corrosive, causes irreversible eye damage. Harmful if
swallowed. Do not get in eyes or on clothing. Wash
thoroughly with soap and water after handling.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT
Applicators and other handlers must wear:
Long-sleeved shirt and long pants.
Shoes plus socks.
Protective eyewear.
Discard clothing and other absorbent materials that have
been drenched or heavily contaminated with this product's
concentrate. Do not reuse them. Follow manufacturer's
instructions for cleaning/maintaining PPE. If no such
instructions for washables, use detergent and hot water.
Keep and wash PPE separately from other laundry.
ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARDS
Do not apply directly to water, or to areas where surface
water is present or to intertidal areas below the mean high
water mark. Do not contaminate water when disposing of
equipment washwaters.
The active ingredient, hexazinone, in this product is
known to leach through soil into ground water under
certain conditions as a result of agricultural use. Use of
this chemical in areas where soils are permeable, partic-
ularly where the water table is shallow, may result in
ground-water contamination.
PHYSICAL AND CHEMICAL HAZARDS
FLAMMABLE. Keep away from heat, sparks, and open
flames. Keep container closed.
USER SAFETY RECOMMENDATIONS
USERS SHOULD: Wash hands before eating, drinking,
chewing gum, using tobacco or using the toilet.
