ENGmNEOIL FmLTER
Replacethe engineoil filter everyseason
or everyotheroilchangeif the tractoris
used morethan 100 hoursin one year.
AIR RLTER
Yourenginewill not run properlyusing a
dirty airfilter. Replacepre-cleanerafter
every25 hours of operationor every
season. Service papercartridgeevery
100 hours of operationor everyseason,
whicheveroccursfirst.
Serviceair cleanermoreoften underdusty
conditions.
1. Pull up on airfilter coverhandleand
rotatetowardsengine.
2. Removecover.
3. Carefullyremoveairfilter cartridgeand
pre-cleanerfrom base.
4. Cleanbasecarefullyto preventdebris
from fallingintocarburetor.
NOTE:If very dirty or damaged,replace
cartridge.
5. Place new pre-cleanerand cartridge
firmly in base.
6. Align tabs on coverwithslots in blower
housingand replacecover.
7. Hook handleoncoverand pushdown
on handleto close.
mMPORTANT:Petroleumsolvents,such
as kerosene,are notto be usedto clean
the cartridge. They maycausedeterio-
rationof the cartridge. Do not oil car-
tridge. Do not use pressurizedair to clean
cartridge.
CLEAN AmRSCREEN
Air screen mustbe keptfree of dirt and
chaffto preventenginedamagefrom
overheating. Cleanwith a wire brushor
compressedair to removedirt andstub-
born dried gumfibers.
ENGmNECOOUNG SYSTEM
Debris mayclog the engine'saircool-
ing system.Removeblowerhousingand
cleanareashownto preventoverheating
and enginedamage.
Air Screen
Clean out chaff and debris
MUFFLER
Inspect and replace corroded muffler and
spark arrester (if equipped) as it could cre-
ate a fire hazard and/or damage.
SPARK PLUG(S)
Replace spark plug(s) at the beginning
of each mowing season or after every
100 hours of operation, whichever occurs
first. Spark plug type and gap setting are
shown in "PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS"
section of this manual.

mN-UNE FUEL FmLTER
The fuel filter should be replaced once
each season. If fuel filter becomes
clogged, obstructing fuel flow to carbu-
retor, replacement is required.
1. With engine cool, remove filter and
plug fuel line sections.
2. Place new fuel filter in position in fuel
line with arrow pointing towards carbu-
retor.
3. Be sure there are no fuel line leaks
and clamps are properly positioned.
4. Immediately wipe up any spilled gaso-
line.
