5 Changing of the pulley is as simple as any other swamp cooler part; though it comes with the knowledge of doing same. The following are the necessary steps to be taken accordingly in order to effect the replacement: - (a) Turning off power and unplugging the system from power is the first step in the right direction. (b) The second step is to remove the Cover and the Motor and keep safe. (c) The third step is to remove the cover of the unit using a flat screwdriver in order to have access to the swamp cooler part. You can then unplug the motor and loosen the bolts to it in order to gain access to the belt. (d) Remove the belt manually by grabbing it with your hand and turn the pulley manually. Use a crescent wrench or socket wrench to loosen up the bolt in the center of the fan pulley. The deal is now done with your removing the Pulley. After all said and done removing the pulley, replacement should be done with a small amount of grease applied to the center of the new pulley before fixing it back the reverse way. That is the solution to the problem
