Replaced lines from fuel tank to carb there was a ...

Replaced lines from fuel tank to carb there was a big line and a small line. Not sure which held the filter because the lines were rotted off in the tank. Put filter on large line and seems to be flooding the Carb. Which line gets the filter and where is it landed on the carb
