Help, I put in fresh fuel this spring and after a few pulls she started up and runs fine....until you go to full throttle and put a load on it then it dies. choke it and it restarts but after running at full throttle awhile it will die again. I have blown back through the fuel line to make sure the filter is clear but still get the same result. What could be the problem ?? Joe

3 Make sure that the line isn't too long. i use a very thick line and left it too long. the trimmer would start easily but die under full load. It runs without a load but the longer (heavier) string sisn't allow it to power up. I CUT THE STRING SHORTER AND IT'S "FIXED".

0 I have the same problem. The trimmer was running fine and then just died. It will start and putter with almost full choke and full throttle but as soon as choke is started to open it will speed up and die. I have checked the valve clearance, cleaned the spark arrestor screen and checked the spark plug gap. Any help would be greatly appreciated....Scott

0 I replaced the plug, fuel hoses, and another hose that the manuel describes as a Breather Hose. Put fresh fuel, oil and cleaned up pretty much everything else. Ran like a beauty for 30 min. I went through the Manual and did all the trouble shooting associated with problem; ie, cleaned the muffler, and broke down the entire carburetor and flushed it out. 2nd time ran for 10 min. If I apply any throttle it seems to starve and want to quit. Any Ideas?

0 Joe, Read your post on here and wanted to know if you were able to fix your Troy Built Trimmer. I am also having the same problem as you and would like to know if anyone sent you a solution to your problem. Any input would be great. Mark

0 Had same problem mine only used twice. Cut cord to shorter length to start and ran fine after stalling whenever it was engaged.
