how do you get into the compartment to replace a broken starter rope. It has strange "fasteners" and what size rope should be used IF I can get into it? My tiller is a pony model 15008

5 The other comments are correct... take the 4 3/8" Bolts out, but first, you have to take the "bumper" frame off of the tiller. WATCH OUT, when you take the 4 1/2" bolts out that hold the frame, the engine is loose from the frame as well! The starter rope is a Briggs and Stratton Part #691921 cut to 72" long.

0 I am having the same issue. I drilled the 4 rivets out off housing to get better access, however I can see no way to get to the spring inside the pulley. I have searched the web for parts, but the only parts listed is the decal on top of the housing. Sure would appreciate some help!!!!!!!! Troy-built pony, model # 15008.

0 There are 4 3/8" bolts that hold that entire housing on, take all 4 out and you gain access to the starter rope spool/
