the belt keeps breaking i go through 2-3 belts a season what would cause this?

0 In the manual it says to engage the PTO at high rpm. I disagree with this method, it is similar to reving your car engine to 5k more rpms and dropping it into drive. Something is always going to break. In many forums people are also complaining about replacing this belt 2 or 3 times a season. I engage the the PTO at a lower rpm in a low grass area. My mower is 5 years old and the belt is still like new. This will also save the impact on the springs, idlers, and linkage.
