Is there a belt tension adjustment on the deck belt for the LX-420? I have had to replace 2 belts in a short time (a lot shorter than when i first bought the machine(. . When new, the belt slips under a small amount of load, and tends to overheat. It is almost as if the belt should be, maybe, a half inch shorter. I am using the Toro 112-5800 belt. I sure wish there were a more detailed manual, like maybe tightening the tension by moving the deck further back?

3 do you have the model #.At toro.com you can get all the manuals. If i could see the parts manual i could see if there is a tensioner. Also on my 38hxl, the had a download that shoed how to do most of that stuff, leveling deck, adjusting brakes, belts etc.But you need the model number off the plate usually in back maybe under seat.

0 The model no of the mower? LX-420. I have the operator's manual, which does show the things you mentioned. Perhaps tensioning is in a Service manual. There is somehng definately wrong, because putting on a new belt still experiences slippage of the belt.

0 There are two holes in mower deck for tensioner, maybe you used the wrong hole.
