Question About Simplicity Lawn Mower 4200 Series
Simplicity 4212 riding lawnmower...

• will not start –electric starter is not rotating Troubleshooting method: • installed new battery • installed new ignition switch that was broke but had been somewhat working • checked all safety switches for continuity, i.e. seat, blade engage, neutral - OK • Noticed the headlights don't turn on – checked for voltage none • Shorted across solenoid poles starter turns engine but no sparkplug firing that I can tell.

0 I am having the same problem & symptoms with my Simplicity 4200 lawnmower. I did the same troubleshooting steps. I am not sure but I think it is the ignition switch. I bought a generic new one from Lowes but it did not help. Although it looks the same it probably is switching voltage the wrong terminals.
