Hey, check the seat switch to make sure you have a good connection. the wiring diagram that i have is unclear from the direction that all the wires go but it shows the black and yellow wires might possibly be the culprit.. check them at the solenoid...

0 im going to assume that you have not identified the box... the motor on your machine has a solid state ignition already. since the box is mounted to the starter it is not a factory part. it may have ran some sort of accessory but i would either remove the box or tape up the black wire. does it attach to the starter power terminal? if so it will only get power when you are cranking the engine. I do know that if it is an ignition wire grounding the black wire will kill the motor.
