I bought replacement wheels for self propelled cra...

I bought replacement wheels for self propelled craftsman lawn mower 917.370691. The problem is the new wheels came with the metal sleeve already inside the new wheels. The sleeve from the old wheels is still on the spindle and the new wheels won't slide over it. Question is how do I get the old sleeve off the spindle?
