my trimmer starts easily and after I let it warm up, usually 1 minute i depress the throttle and it just dies out. It will not increase it's speed. I start it again and the same thing happens????

0 I'm experiencing the same issue with our 890r. I can keep it running by babying the throttle, but too much throttle and it dies. I cleaned the air filter and replaced the oil this morning w/o any change in behavior. Next up I'll replace the existing fuel w/ some new stuff, per Ryobi instructions, and see if that works. Will post back!

0 IVE HAD THIS MODEL TRIMMER SINCE 2000.IT NEVER RAN PROPERLY SINCE IVE OWNED IT. FUEL LINES NEEDED REPLACING.THE WALBRO CARB. WAS MISSING SPRING TO METERING LEVER. I PUT ONE IN FROM A JUNK TRIMMER W/ A ZAMA CARB.WORKS GREAT.IT IDLES, ACCELERATES,& DE-CELERATES W/O KILLING ENGINE.NO MORE GOING THROUGH THE START-UP ROUTINE (A,B,C, CHOKE).ITS BEEN SITTNG IN GARAGE SINCE I BOUGHT IT .I SPENT MORE TIME PULLING THE CORD THAN ACTUAL RUN TIME ON TRIMMER.NOW IT RUNS GREAT, NO PROBLEMS.
