This trimmer has line that exits from two sides. When I replaced the line and wound it on in the direction shown by the arrow, it does not feed. How do I wind it correctly?

0 Have you replaced the spring correctly under the spool in the trim head ?

0 Yes, the spring is in place. The head has 6 cut-outs of 20mm ea and 'posts' of 10mm Two have slots about 1.6 mm wide. Should the cord rest in these slots? The store sold me 2mm cord. Is this the problem?

0 I do NOT rest the line into the two slots and I am using 1.6 mm line. I inherited my trimmer so I dont have an info book for it but it seems to work fine the way I am using it (which may not be the correct way). Just feed the line through the two holes on the spool, wrap it in the right direction and then feed it out the two holes on the side of the head, making sure it doesnt get caught up on any of the 6 cut-outs.

0 Thanks, Rod. I will try 1.6mm line.
