5 It sounds, to me, like you have bent something underneath the mower. Such as, the mower blade itself, one of the pulleys, or the shaft coming from the engine. First, visually inspect all of these and see if theres an obviously bent part. If not, I would try replacing the blade first as its the cheapest and most common problem to take care of.
