Trouble starting heater this season. Manual switch placed in ON position and temperature dial is turned so that ticking noise is heard, but heater does not start.

0 Hi - Heaters are fairly complex, so it really could be a variety of issues. Did you check through the manual posted above?The heater section may be able to help. If not, first step is to make sure that the gas valves are all in the on position, and if you are using propane check the gauge. If this doesn't help, you may want to get it serviced.
