Was cutting my grass and felt engine loosing power and died will not restart. I went and bought a new spark plug and sprayed blaster engine tune up where spark plug goes and replaced plug still would not start. The starter is kicking in turning the top of the engine but no fire to start. It has new starter, battery, changed out gas, checked gas line and gas filter, fresh oil, new belts and blades. Can anyone tell me what to do next please ?

4 Sounds like problems with the carburator. Did you check your air filter as well? Could be the choke or the carburator itself. You are not getting any fuel to spark.

0 How do I check to see if it is the carburator and what do I do to fix it?

0 You'll have to start by taking the air filter off. If it is dirty, clean or change. Try the tractor again. If wont go, take off the air filter and check to see if the choke plate is closed when choked. If it does, may I suggest checking the Briggs & Stratton site to get the schematic for the engine. It might help you more. You could have to take it to a mechanic.

0 disconnect my carburator and saw that one connectors on top that goes to my choke/ throttle is not connected to anything. One is silver metal, when I move my throttle up and down it moves opening up the door inside my carburator the other one on top is black plastic and was not connected to anything but when I move it manually it opens and closes the other door in my carburator. Could I have lost a spring or some kind of connector? The engine is Briggs and Stratton 15Hp model 31C707 Type 0230E1

0 I have tried to find a picture of the carburator and the connections to the throttle but the ones I have found do not show them

0 The plate with the two big holes in it, is your choke plate. The other one is your throttle plate. By the sounds of it, you are missing a linkage wire. And maybe a spring too. Sorry about the B&S site. I thought they might have had better manuals. Engines are all basically built the same. Check some other brand sites . There are also carburetor videos on Youtube. Something there might be helpful.
