After mowing for about 20 minutes i shut my mower ...

After mowing for about 20 minutes i shut my mower down, take a break for bout 10 minutes and then try and restart my mower. I can not get it to crank for 30 to 40 minutes. Why? I have a poulan pro with a briggs and stratton 625ex self propelled!
