5 Prior to any chainsaw carb settings, fresh premix, new fuel filter and clean airfilter.Preset both Low speed mixture & high speed mixture needles out by 11/4 turns.Start saw and warm the engine.Slowly turn the idle speed screw in and out until the engine idles smoothly at rpm specified.( use tachometer) Now slowly turn the L speed mixture clockwise( lean) and note any changes, will speed up and then decrease ( leaner) Do the same ( Low) but anticlockwise( rich) set at the midpoint between lean & rich. Now do the same with (High ) with the throttle at full rpm, adjust the high speed mixture setting to midway point between rich & lean, High speed mixture setting is correct when the engine just begins to "stutter"( slightly rich mixture) at full throttle.Recheck engine idle, must accelerate smoothly from idle. If engine "stumbles" on acceleration, enrich the Low speed mixture slightly ( counter clockwise) Recheck & adjust idle speed as required. Good luck.
