Cutting line will not feed out

for Poulan Trimmer PPB150E

I have a Poulan PPB150E on which the cutting line has never worked properly. I have tried new spools and have wound a spool myself, but the line will not feed out when I tap the head on the ground and if I manually adjust the two lines to the same length, one line will soon be back inside the spool cover. The line is the correct diameter. Frank Frank
