Removing generator motor

for Honda Power Equipment Portable Generator EB6500

I have 2 EB6500 generators & the motor runs on 1 but not the generator. How do I remove the generator assembly from the motor to swap

    how do i seperate motor from electrical unit. ( tried slide hammer just doesen't seem to be working. am i missing something? please help.
