5 Cleaning a carburetor ensures that the chock plates are easily mobile to facilitate proper functioning. At the left part of the lawn mower, lies the air box cover. Take the air box cover off, to expose the carburetor which lies behind the air box which houses the air cleaner. Remove the cables that connect the carburetor to the engine part of the lawn mower. This will ensure that the carburetor is not attached to any cables and hence it can be detached easily. After removing the carburetor, place it on a flat surface and unscrew the bolt at the bottom of it to remove the cover case to expose the gas links. The two holes present at the bottom which are the jets should be the one to be cleaned so as to prevent clogging. Use a carb cleaner to clean the jets by placing the carb cleaner muzzle into the jets and pressing the top of the cleaner to shoot and release the cleaning substance on full pressure. The liquid gets expelled at the different openings of the carburetor. Repeat the process until the substance emitted from the carburetor jets is clear with no artifacts or dark emulsions. The next important jet is the brass jet which is located at the middle of the carburetor. Spray the carb cleaner material into the top jet opening and also from the sideways jets. Repeat the procedures until all the jets and openings are crystal clear. When satisfied, reassemble the carburetor by first putting into place the bottom bolt which was used to hold the cover and the inner parts of the carburetor. Fix back the carburetor at its normal place and your ready to go.
